Description: A sacred coming-of-age ritual brings a young man, Massi, to a tower filled with obstacles he must overcome to save his village from destruction by the powerful Atau. However, Massi soon falls in love with the goddess, Cali, and discovers that the true cost of becoming a man may be higher than he expected. Cali is an allegorical tale, based on a personal narrative, exploring power and the loss of innocence in South American culture.
Review: Cali is a 3rd person adventure that is big enough to keep you in VR for several hours. While you could argue that the graphics are low polygon they are still able to easily immerse you and make you believe you are a sort of god overlooking the highly animated character you are controlling. There are also times when the flicking camera can cause you problems with the direction you are running from the previous camera angle, but taking things at a slower pace soon solves this issue. Yes, this game does indeed have a few slight niggles, but it’s not hard for me to highly recommend it. It’s a good price, a nice amount of gameplay and its all easily immersive throughout. Charge up your gamepad, charge up your phone and lose yourself in Cali’s quest to become a god, you won’t regret it and there are more than a few surprises to keep it fresh along the way.
