Review: Welcome on Planet Exo-277. A place where your abilities will be tested. This world belongs to the alien race that doesn’t know what defeat means. You will be facing enemies that are ruthless, cruel and mainly terrifying. Survive and become the famous warrior in the universe! The good news is you have the Blue Energy. This means you get a nice ball of light that doesn’t seem to do much and a powerful gun that never runs out of ammo.
This is your classic shooter. Just point, shoot, keep shooting! While I didn’t really get the point of the light orb in some of the areas, others are so dark that you will need those orbs every step of the way. With 4 levels to choose from each one looks better than the last and while they don;t change between the levels the enemies look pretty good as well. This is a game that makes great use of light and this also helps to make it scarier and more atmospheric than it otherwise might have been.
I can’t help but feel like something is missing from Blue Effect. Maybe it’s the lack of levels or the lack of multiplayer options, but something is indeed missing. Looking at what is there is something to be happy about. With a fantastic use of lighting to make some truly scary moments, graphically there isn’t much to moan about. But finding your monies worth is impossible. I can only suggest waiting for a sale before getting this game as it is worth getting, just not at its current price. As far as VR shooters go this is certainly not the worse, but far from being the best.
