Review: Beyond the City VR isn’t the worst tower defence game I have ever played, but it certainly isn’t the best. The gameplay is similar to that of general tower defence game in which players need to make strategic deployments to secure appropriate soldiers above the city walls to resist foreign enemies. Thanks to motion controllers the game allows players to play as soldiers and carry out archery and other attacks. It is still a single-player game, but the developer promises to add new features in future versions but I wouldn’t hold your breath on anything getting updated. Sure, it’s a little basic, but it is more than playable. It’s not £3.99’s worth of fun, but grab it for a quid or less and you might enjoy it a little more than I did.
