Description: Banshee Force is a virtual reality game where you command the legendary Banshee Force Weapons Platform. Enemy ships warp in above your cities trying to take down the city shields and kill your population. You direct the power of the awesome weapons platform by aiming anti-ballistic missiles at the enemy’s missiles and ships with your hands. Using the platform’s store you can extend your cities’ defences by building floating shields, anti-ballistic missile batteries and even automated anti-air plasma cannons. The more enemy you take out, the greater the bankroll for further purchases.

Moving about the cityscape as a 170-story tall, invisible spectre in the centre of the onslaught, you understand what the city is facing. You are its guardian. Will you repel the invasion triumphantly or wail at the deaths brought by your failure?

Review: Banshee Force is pretty much a VR version of 1980 arcade game Missile Command. There are mother ships firing missiles at your command base and you need to fire shots on the missiles and the mother ships firing them until they are all gone. While I can’t deny it is basic looking it was fun to play for a short while. Just for a short blast, it offered a little bit of nostalgia and a fun little distraction. But it soon got boring and I was left to wonder where my £3.99 went. This is a game best grabbed in a cheap bundle of games rather than waiting for it in a sale.
