Details: Awe and shock! Did car maker Audi secretly release a VR headset that they kept quiet about just to test the waters of VR? If they did then they are the world’s first automobile manufacturer to do so and they certainly have the design skills and money to pull it off. Well…the answer is YES! But sadly not in a way we might have liked. This is a phone mountable cardboard headset that has been styled by the company to promote its Audi A4 Experience app.

Our Thoughts: So sadly not the full VR headset most of us might have wanted to see. But it’s not such bad news if you think about it. Clearly, car manufacturers are sitting up and taking note of the recent resurgence in VR. I’m sure most of them simply see it as another marketing tool, but marketing money for VR apps and even cardboard headsets can only be good for the VR industry as a whole.
