Description: AstoriaVR takes you back into the Astoria night club in 1986, one of the few legendary places in Leipzig in the former GDR. Audio recordings of former employees, interactive objects and private conversations create a fully immersive experience of times long past.
Review: ‘AstoriaVR’ is a virtual recreation of the nightclub in the Hotel Astoria in Leipzig, Germany that was closed in 1996. This VR recreation takes you all the way back to 1986 To be fair it is a pretty great recreation and there are lots of things to read, interact with and listen to and it comes with both German and English narration. While it isn’t going to amuse most people those who have even the smallest interest in this hotel and club will enjoy it. All I can say for sure is that this was a very…over glamorized version of what really went on in that nightclub, especially as it was often occupied by Nazis. But hey, it held my interest for ten minutes, so I say it is worth a look.
