Description: New Zealand-based Antarctic Heritage Trust partnered with Auckland University of Technology (AUT) to create a ground-breaking virtual reality experience of Sir Edmund Hillary’s Antarctic hut. A fully immersive experience, which includes a guided tour through the hut, it celebrates what Hillary’s 23-man team achieved in their mission to further science and exploration in the world’s most extreme environment.
Review: ‘Antarctic Heritage Trust’ is an interactive tour of Sir Edmund Hillary’s Antarctic hut. This fascinating tour tells you what he had to do to survive in such extreme conditions as well as some of the historical tools he would have used. If you fly through it you should finish in less than 10 minutes, but I took a while longer than that as I was looking at everything inside the hut. With some nice narration and use of 2D video interviews, this is an oddly interesting experience that is well worth a look as it is free after all.
