Description: Albino Lullaby is a horror adventure game that doesn’t rely on jump scares or gore. A Lynchian psychological nightmare where you play as yourself. Escape from a dark and surreal Victorian town that clings to the precipices of underground cliffs. The gamespace dynamically twists and contorts around you in real time, as you unravel an equally twisted narrative.
Review: This game starts off with you having a car crash into a lorry and that will be the only point where you know what is going on. This is one crazy game with amazing colours everywhere and what seems like an ever changing room flip design of levels. The idea is you need to discover not only what has happened to you, but also how to escape.
As you move through the levels you will come across more and more disturbing things. From torture chairs to sick notes left for various people (or things). There are no jump scare moments to talk of, but the whole game makes you feel on edge, never really knowing what you are going to come across next! And believe me, just when you thought this game couldn’t get and weirder it does.
While not the jump style scariest game ever made, if you get some headphones on and really get into it, you will find it a terrifying experience. Albino Lullaby perfectly captures the spirit and style of Halloween and would be a great game to play on that scariest of days. This game uses atmosphere, sound and neon colours to keep you on edge, while there are no jump scares you will still feel very uncomfortable while playing it. But in my opinion this is a game best enjoyed alone and not shared with friends. I say that because they might not get why you love it and might also think you are weird for doing so. But you will never know if you do unless you download it.
