Description: “Aeronaut” is one of the first music experiences to feature a hologram created with Microsoft Mixed Reality Capture. This technology was used to capture Billy Corgan’s performance in volumetric video. In this experience, Viacom and Isobar explored how to better connect fans to artists by allowing them to interact with and experience music in an entirely new way.
Review: For those who don’t know who ‘Billy Corgan’ is, he is better known as the singer of the rock band the Smashing Pumpkins. This VR experience is 5 minutes long and is just Billy Corgan singing and playing the piano that has all been captured perfectly and turned into a 3D experience with tilt-brush style art effects moving all around you. The music and the visuals work perfectly together to capture the emotion of the song and carry the music to a much more immersive point. For a freebie, I think this is well worth a look even if you have never heard of the Smashing Pumpkins. Sometimes you just want something to smile about and this does the job perfectly.
