Review: Once again we look into the eyes of death in a VR horror game. This one is based on the folklore of Tiyanak. People in the Philippines have been telling tales of this scary monster for centuries and now here it is in VR. For those who don’t know who (or what) Tiyanak is, he is basically a demon child who died before receiving baptism rites and now he is back on earth to eat living victims. So the usual cheery storyline then. It is also based on events before their previous non-VR game Nightfall: Escape, but you don’t need to know that game’s storyline or had played it before to enjoy this one.

Controls are pretty easy once you work out what button does what, then it is up to you to get around the scary house and survive the night by avoiding any contact with the Tiyanak himself. There are doors to unlock, pages of a book to find and some very immersive lighting and sounds. Also which character you choose will depend on which monster you will come across, yes there is more than one of them sadly.

OK, so Nightfall: Eclipse is not the best horror game out there, but it doesn’t need to be! It’s still scary as hell, creepy immersive and sure to give you more than a few jump scares. What more do you need a horror to do!? Proof indeed that VR horror is the future of all horror games.
