Description: You wake in the night, strange things have been happening around your house and you have no idea what is lurking, is something coming for you? you have no idea. Tonight is the night, you are locked in your room what will happen, is there an escape? so many unanswered questions and so little time. DGVR is designed to be a horror experience, this means there are NO controls, you enter the game a look around and try to survive the night. Created in VR for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift we put you in the room, where things are happening and there is nothing you can do about it!
Review: DemonicGuestVR is your classic VR horror experience. Featuring monsters, lightning, rain, killer teddies, ghosts and even exploding appliances, from the moment you press ‘start’ the terror begins and boy will you want to hang onto something. I had jumped out of my skin and the game hadn’t even started! There is no movement needed here (although it is nice to hold the controller in your hand for support) you just sit on the bed and have to let all the horror around you happen. There is nothing you can do, nowhere you can run, you just have to endure it.
DemonicGuestVR is the classic example of why horror experiences work so well in VR and they cram more jump scares into this short experience than many full-priced games! I felt that I was sat a bit too high on the bed as if I was standing on top of it, it would have been better to have had a sisters style of sitting on the end of the bed where I can see my virtual legs. Other than that it was worth every penny. This is sure to go down well at next year’s VR Halloween party.
