Description: PowerDVD 22 – The World’s #1 Blu-ray & Media PlayerPowerDVD is more than just a Blu-ray and DVD player – it’s an all-in-one, premium multimedia app that allows you to get the most out of your viewing experience.
Review: Much like ‘PowerDVD 20‘ & ‘PowerDVD 18 Ultra‘ before it ‘CyberLink PowerDVD 22 Ultra’ is a pretty comprehensive media player. It allows you to view pretty much every media format from every recording system known to man, with both 4K Ultra HD and 8K video playback and support for just about every steaming platform you can think of. When it comes to its use in VR however it is pretty basic. Sure, it allows you to watch most things in VR, but with no tracking controller support at all, it is more an afterthought than something worth acknowledging.
OK, so here is the big “but”. There will be people out there that always get the latest versions of CyberLink PowerDVD and an even smaller percentage of those people will appreciate that it has a VR option. It’s not something you should be buying this program for, but it is there for those who need it more as a support feature rather than a feature feature. I personally wouldn’t pay this amount of money for what is essentially a media play, but that won’t stop die-hard CyberLink fans from doing so and that is the only people who will indeed be doing so.
