Description: VR Antarctic Adventure is an experience that allows you to experience scientific activities in the most fascinating continent on the planet. You will discover fossils, extract ice samples and have a time travel adventure to discover the Cretaceous period, to understand the relationship between the Antarctic continent and all the continents since the beginning of planet Earth.
This is a project developed by an interdisciplinary team belonging to the National University of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands, seeking to expand the offer of activities and technological experiences specifically related to divulge and disseminate information about the natural and cultural heritage of the city of Ushuaia and the Province of Tierra del Fuego.
Review: ‘Antarctic Adventure’ is a short interactive experience about the Antarctic and why it is so important to scientific research. While this could just as easily be made on the Gear VR there is a small amount of educational content here and it was kind of interesting. Sadly English language is not supported so you will have learn Spanish to understand it all, but I still found it kind of interesting, even if I couldn’t read many of the text blocks. It is free after all so if you have an interest in this sort of thing and you can read Spanish do give it a go. This is one of those apps with which there is no harm in trying it, even if there are far better apps on the Antarctic out there.
