Description: Board a spaceship and commence a game of wit in the vast universe! Take the lead, attack ferociously but defend cautiously, and give your opponent the final blow. You may also follow the ship to travel, guess which mysterious scene you will end up?
Review: I think the best way to do this review is to start with the good news. ‘chessVR’ is of course the classic game of chess only in VR. You can play on your own or with a friend or someone online. It looks pretty good to be fair and the 4 scenes: Medieval Castle, Pixel-styled Arena, Spaceship and Japanese-styled Chamber and there are 8 levels of difficulty to test yourself against. While there are no other players online (so you will need friends to play this) the game delivers what it needs to do.
If you like chess this is worth a look, but if you hate chess this isn’t going to change your mind. I would have liked some more character animations, a tutorial on how to play chess and I would have liked to have seen my opponent’s hands moving, but these are all small things that can always be added later. It’s a good little chess game for sure, but there are others out there for free that do much the same thing.
