Description: As an aspiring group of performers craving fame, you have been invited as a backup for a performance and were assigned to an abandoned dressing room due to a lack of facilities. Lockdown VR: Circus of the Dead is the second of a series of escape games where you play the role of Detective iBrow, and gather your friends to challenge your mind, have some fun and think your way out!
Review: Much like the original ‘Lockdown VR: Kidnapped’ this new game also a multiplayer puzzle room style game, done with cute teddies as charters. While the first game was an interesting and refreshing perspective on the escape room genre, this new one is pretty much the same game only with a circus theme. Yes, the graphics are low-poly, but they are also cute and colourful making the game feel more fun than it actually is. When it comes to the gameplay it is pretty much the same as the original, simple to get the hang of things, but difficult at times to interact with items.
The truth is this game CAN be a great laugh. You get the right players in a room and this game comes into its own. But ‘Lockdown VR: Circus of the Dead’ isn’t a good single-player game. There isn’t enough content nor storyline to justify the £7.19 asking price. The only value here is playing it with different people and while I did enjoy my first playthrough subsequent ones were less joyous. Don’t buy this unless you plan to hit the multiplayer side of things, but if you are you will find a pretty decent game here, but it is only more of the original game, nothing really extra (but that isn’t a bad thing).
