Review: ‘Inside the Backrooms’ is a small horror adventure game in which you will be solving a few puzzles, while trying to avoid various bad guys. The first thing you will notice is all the walls look the same and you can easily become disorientated here with no clue on whether you are facing forwards or backwards, which is kind of a point of the style of the game. Playing on your own I have to say the game can get a little boring, the real value here is in the online co-op. You can also play in VR or on a normal screen so you can play with friends without VR.
I can across a few bugs while I was playing it and the puzzles can be rather frustrating due to the lack of direction or help, but given the game’s small price I do think it is worth a look. There are a few good jump-scares and the repeated wall textures really help you feel lost and anxious about where to go next. Its not going to be for everyone, but for a VR horror co-op game you can’t go wrong here!
