Description: ROTK is a VR rhythm game based on your reflex and lightsaber skill. Deflect shots, slash projectiles, slash enemies, dodge obstacles, use your powers to break others. All this to the beat of a dark techno song in hand-crafted levels designed to match the music.
Review: ‘The Rhythm of the Knight’ is a low-poly rhythm game in which you use a lightsabre to smash your way through various shapes as you slowly travel along a city landscape. I really didn’t mind the graphics at all and there is a good mix of dance music and rock for you to play along with. There are a few different difficulties to challenge yourself with, but it’s mostly a single mode game, but it does have a tutorial at least.
While I do give the developer kudos for trying something new with the music/rhythm genre it is not a game I will be recommending anytime soon. From zero beat mapping, to an overall lack of content, there simply isn’t enough here to get anywhere near the current £11.39 asking price. There are better free games in the same genre and while I don’t think this game needs to be made free, it could have been much cheaper than it currently is. With some updates and more content maybe this will be worth a look, but that time is definitely not right now.
