Review: Are you old enough to remember Frogger from way back in 1981? If you do, you will get a strange nostalgic feeling playing this game. But for those who don’t remember it or are too young, the idea of the game was to get the frog across the road while avoiding being run over. It was a little bit of arcade fun that kept people of the 80’s amused for hours.
Now fast forward to the year 2016 are here we are once again playing an arcade style video game and trying to cross the road. Only this game is in VR and that means more realism and you are the frog. That means crossing the road is no longer a fun game of chance, it’s a terrifying experience that will get the heart racing and the bum clenching. But yet the idea is still the same and so is the basic style of graphics (only this time it is basic 3D).
Trying to cross the road in VR where it is possible to gauge the speed and distance the vehicle heading towards you is, it makes it so much more exciting than any top-down arcade game. Add into that the timer and you have a game that is a blast from one side of the road to the other. Why did the frog cross the road? Because he was in VR and it was fun.
