Review: ‘Car Mechanic Simulator VR’ is essentially the same game as “Car Mechanic Simulator 2018”, only now you can play it in VR of course. On paper, it should have been a fun game to port into VR and to be fair it is not shoehorned into the game, the developers have tried to make it as VR friendly as they can. It sure looks good, if a little dark most of the time.

For me the game just feels…off. From the dark and gloomy garage to the bugs here there and everywhere to the blaring music that took me ages to find out how to turn off (hint, the music is coming from the radio). Those expecting real-world mechanic levels of interaction here will be bitterly disappointed, but it is a fun interactive experience rather than a virtual job game. For me, the £15.49 price is the final nail in this games bonnet. For me personally, it felt a touch too basic and simply not fun enough, but I am not a “gear head”. The idea of fixing my own car is not something I would enjoy, let alone one in VR. But I just know someone will like this. But that person wasn’t me.
