Description: RCSI Medical Training Sim is designed for medical professionals and trainees. Experience and simulate a traumatic scenario following a road traffic accident and make critical decisions for your patient. You have a patient’s life in your hands and time is running out. It’s up to you to save his life. This app includes an alternative fully educational and didactic mode allowing those without medical training to learn from this experience in an immersive environment. Created by Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in conjunction with Immersive VR Education.
Review: The RCSI (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland) has made this app with the idea that something similar to it in the future might help train future nurses and doctors. The graphics are really good to be fair and the crash scene at the start is worthy of its own “don’t text and drive” advert. As you try and assess and save the patient you learn what to do, how the hospitals procedures go through a sort of health checklist and the sorts of things to look out for when a patient first steps into the emergency room. By selecting various choices you can pick right or wrong, in the end, you will learn the right way to do things.
I’m not saying this app is going to turn you into a doctor or nurse overnight, but it will certainly educate you in a way only the RCSI could. The things you learn here are designed to inspire you to seek further education in the medical field. If you have any interest in seeking a medical career no matter how young or old you are, this app is a must.
