Description: Tahul is a virtual reality experience based around a fictional lost world reminiscent of ancient, Moroccan culture and was created to highlight the winners of the SIGGRAPH 2020 VR Theater. In Tahul participants interact with an artefact that gives them control over the four elements from Arabic alchemy: fire, water, earth and air. These elements can be used to manipulate the virtual environment and provide participants new to VR with a learning experience. Tahul culminates with previews of this year’s Selection.
Review: ‘Tahul’ is a short interactive experience based around a dreamlike setting of Moroccan culture. You get to play around with the elements of the earth and change the colourful environment it gives you. It’s kind of fun, oddly peacefully and at times quite beautiful to watch. But give it 10 minutes and you would have seen all this experience has to offer making it too short for some people tastes. Personally, I enjoyed it and it is free after all, but I get the short length will mean some people won’t waste their time downloading it which is a shame.
