VR News: As we all start to come out of lockdown more and more estate agents are opening back up again, but it seems a lot more of them are using VR to show people houses rather than going to the house itself. My Thoughts: We have seen this sort of thing many times before, but it is the number of people and indeed estate agents using the tech that has risen sharply since the start of the pandemic. While you might have thought the number would have dropped as people come out of lockdown it is in fact going up and more estate agents realise people don’t want others walking around their homes even if they were out at the time of the viewing. With the ability to gauge depth and size VR is the perfect technology for this sort of thing and the Oculus Quest means that tech doesn’t come with a high price point. We might be coming out of lockdown, but the risk of infection is still out there and VR is the perfect tech to reduce that risk a little more.
