Description: Deplau is a gesture based single player VR action/adventure game where you are a sorcerer trying to reclaim stolen magic. Someone has stolen relics of great power from the Settlement of Sorcerers and unleashed otherwordly monsters into the world. Play as the Arcane Warden, keeper of the stolen relics. Smite monsters with your magical might, evade traps, solve puzzles and discover secrets in your quest through Deplau to reclaim the stolen relics and save the world.
Review: Most of us VR headset owners would have played at least one spellcasting game before Deplau, but this brings something new to the table in the form of gesture-based gameplay. Not only will you be casting spells with your hands (motion controllers, but no buttons) but also selecting movement (via waypoints) with your hands as well. If only this game had worked with the various hand tracking programs out there it would have been a lot more fun. While the game itself is very basic I do feel it is worth the £3.99 just for trying something different. Let’s just hope it makes it into the Oculus Quest to make great use of the hand tracking.
