Review: Anceder kind of disappointed me as well as making me smile. It made me smile for the nostalgia it offers for older shooter ’em ups like R-Type and Zaxxon. It keeps the gameplay traditional as well and you can even play it with a gamepad for even more authenticity. But it could and indeed should have been a much better looking game. I can handle it being a top-down style, but when I am paying £10.29 I expect the graphics to be at least better than some old Amega games and they simply weren’t. It’s worth a good few quid I suppose and use retro-gamers will love it, but it could have been so much more than it currently is.
