Description: SphereFACE is a retro-styled 3D vector shooter, wrapped around the inside of a sphere. An unashamedly abstract shooter that ranges from slow, strategic sniping to frantic rock-dodging action, with roguelike elements of exploration, progression, discovery and permadeath.
Review: While many people enjoy playing ‘sphereFACE’ I just feel that it is far too retro for me. First of all, there is no instructions or tutorial, just like many of the 8-bit games this app copies. and the wireframe style graphics are just too basic. I would have liked a little more…wow factor mixed in with them. Sure, there are some OK particle effects, but nothing that really stands out over the original 8-bit game they are updating! It’s not a terrible game and those who love their retro gaming will enjoy it, but I certainly wouldn’t pay £7.19 for this. So do try and grab it for a quid and less, but only if you REALLY love your retro games.
