Description: Manifest 99 is an ominous and eerie story about finding redemption in the afterlife. Set on a mysterious train inhabited by a murder of crows, you assist four travel companions on a journey to their final destination. This virtual reality experience is played without a controller: you gaze into the eyes of crows to move to their perch, viewing the world from their scale and perspective. Look into the eyes of your travel companions and uncover the reason why they – and you – are on this train travelling into the great beyond.
Review: When it comes to animated 360 experiences they are often hit or miss for me personally, but this one is a definite hit. The gorgeous animation plays out as the story unfolds, but 99% of the time you will not have a clue what is going on, but enjoying it anyway. The “gaze” system to teleport to each bird (waypoints) works very well indeed and even though this does whip you through the experience faster than you might have liked, it does also leave you time to admire the fantastic artwork. Sure, you might not watch this any more than once, but even then I still think this gives you your money’s worth. An odd one for sure, but also a great showcase for 360 animations.
