Description: Ziggy the hedgehog is living an interesting life on a golf course, but various naughty creatures want to spoil all the fun. Help Ziggy to avoid the obstacles, retrieve all of his golf equipment, and safely roll a ball down a golf hole. Ziggy’s Chase is a 3D platformer with colourful graphics and a multitude of obstacles and enemies. You can run, jump and shoot, and also use some other kinds of transportation like a boat or a seesaw. It has the visual vibe of some older console games, but with many new tweaks and perks.
Review: You know what it’s like, you’re a happy cartoon hedgehog enjoying life and getting in some golf now and again. Then suddenly, along come some very naughty creatures who want to spoil all your fun. That is the story of Ziggy’s Chase. So what you gonna do about these nasty creatures? You’re gonna get back all your golf equipment and carry on having fun that is what you are gonna do!
Of course, it is not as simple as that and you have various enemies to fight off and some dangerous obstacles like lawnmowers and fans to deal with. All set in a 3D platformer style you can shoot, jump and run about trying to collect everything and get to the green to play a hole. The controls are pretty classic using just 2 buttons and the thumbstick, so getting the hang of the game doesn’t take long.
With its fun cartoon graphics and very funky music Ziggy’s Chase is a joy to play. But I don’t think it offers great value for money due to the lack of levels or replay value, nor does it make great use of VR as we have seen with other VR platformers like Lucky’s Tale. But I’m a sucker for a cartoon platform action game and still had loads of fun playing it despite those negative points. We VR gamers have been crying out for a good VR platformer, but sadly this is not it.
