Review: Snow Fortress is said to allow you to ‘relive your childhood’, but as I live in the UK, I can remember the last time there was enough snow to make a ping=pong sized snowball, let alone all the amazing things you can make from snow in this game. Set over 20 levels and three different playing modes, this game is snow warfare on a grand scale. You can build your very own ice fort to protect yourself and then throw snowballs at your opponent in a variety of ways.

It might be all cartoon style and cutesy, but once you get into the later levels it turns into all-out war! There really is a challenging way beyond its childish looks that will make you sweat and play the game for far longer than you might well intend to do so. Take my advice and really put some thinking into building your fort at the start, it is more important than you might think.

If you love playing around in the snow or have ever wanted too, this app will give you that opportunity. It’s fast, fun and surprisingly immersive. I really don’t think any video or review will do this game justice. Until you start playing it yourself you won’t realise just how easy it is to get into. I am ashamed to admit that in the later levels I found myself getting quite aggressive with the competition, but by then I had committed to my ice fort and didn’t want the game to end. If only this had an online multiplayer mode, it would have been perfect.
