Description: The Martian VR Experience is a truly out-of-this-world, interactive and immersive adventure, with viewers participating from astronaut Mark Watney’s perspective, performing tasks to facilitate his chances for survival. Viewers can fly onto the surface of Mars, steer at zero gravity through space, drive a rover navigating over craters, and experience key scenes from the hit film in a 360-degree virtual reality environment. The Martian VR Experience is executive produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Robert Stromberg.
You wake up in the martian dirt and pretty much copy exactly what happens in the film. You will have to fix things and more importantly grow food to survive the 3 years. But not all of this experience is interactive, some of it you have to watch clips in the film. But the good news is you do get to drive the Mars rover (once you have fixed it).
While graphically and gameplay-wise there really isn’t anything much to pick on, but when it comes to value for money this gives the same return on your money as a Hollywood flop. You don’t feel left short as much as you feel mugged! There simply isn’t enough…in fact not even close to the amount of content you would expect for this price tag. In fact, the whole film will cost you about the same and give you even longer watch time! Having said that what there is looks amazing and really does put you in the shoes of the film’s character. I suppose if money is no object, this is worth playing. But for us poor people, stay well clear, or just buy the movie and get better value for money.
