Review: Being a big fan of the original 1943 Battle of Midway I was not looking forward to playing ‘1976 – Back to midway’ because I thought it was going to be a poor clone of the original game, only in VR. The good news is I ended up being pleasantly surprised by the game and really ended up enjoying it…a lot. The graphics are worthy of particular note as they look great especially when playing in cockpit mode. Sure the game lacks many of the original games things like bomb-dropping and it also has a lack of variety when it comes to the enemies, it still feels great to play and can indeed be oddly immersive. While I would try and grab it a little cheaper than the current £11.39 asking price I do easily recommend it to not only fans of the original game, but also fans of actions games as a whole.
