Description: The Elevator Ritual is a first-person, interactive, short horror story from developer Samson Films. When Sarah, a teenage student, plays the Elevator Ritual, she ends up in the Otherworld and must escape a vengeful spirit in order to return home. Become Sarah, experience the deadly ritual and find your way back home.
Review: This standing (and sometimes sitting) VR horror experience plays on an old urban legend (The Elevator Ritual) that says if you press elevator buttons in a certain order you will goto the ‘other world’. Sadly for you, this is VR and anything can and will happen. So when your character performs the Elevator Ritual she is transported to the Otherworld and there the fun really begins.
While there is little more to do other than press the elevator floor buttons and sometimes lean out of the lift, there isn’t a whole lot to do, but that also helps to make it even scarier during the quiet bits.
VR horror experiences are the best and this app is no different. Making you stand in the elevator is a genius touch, but also a silly one. On our own first run through of this game 3 out of 5 of us nearly had some sort of accident due to being jump-scared. This is an app that you play with on Halloween and use it to scare the wits out of your friends and family. While basic it does a great job and is well worth a download.
